You can choose the optimal backup method tailored to your needs. It is possible to set up a system using IBM Cloud’s Backup or leveraging your own licenses.

5  Disaster Recovery (DR)

Using multiple availability zones and object storage, we replicate your valuable data to prevent data loss during disasters.

6  Disk/Storage

In addition to the internal disks of virtual and physical servers, it is also possible to combine Block/File Storage and Object Storage according to your needs.

Configuration

I will explain two advantages of the configuration of IBM Cloud.

1. Physical server

IBM Cloud boasts a top-class lineup of bare metal servers among public cloud vendors. Even in cases where there are software license restrictions with virtual servers, such as Oracle or VMware, flexible configurations are possible with bare metal servers.

You can select configurations that perfectly meet various needs, such as “not being able to coexist with other companies from a data security perspective” and “wanting to occupy resources to avoid degrading the performance of other workloads.” One of the features of IBM Cloud is bare metal servers, which allow for arbitrary configurations of server selection, memory, operating system, internal disks, and network ports.

2. Communication over the private network is free of charge.

By communicating through a private port, private network communication is free, meaning there are no operational charges incurred. Additionally, the data centers are connected via high-speed, high-bandwidth dedicated lines.

This feature allows communication between data centers without incurring the communication fees typically charged for data transfer in conventional cloud services. Users can build globally spanning systems relatively inexpensively without being bound by pay-as-you-go network transfer costs, which is highly valued by many users.

By effectively utilizing the structural advantages of IBM Cloud that are not found in other clouds, users can achieve cost savings on communication expenses.

Operations
